MatERIAL
Tagua, also called corozo or vegetable ivory, is the seed of a palm tree from South America, which grows in the shade of the Amazonian forest. Harvested like a fruit, the seed is carved like wood: it is cut, carved, polished and colored to create TAWA B’Art jewelry and accessories!
Naturally, the seed strongly looks like animal ivory both in color and appearance: hard, white and opaque. Therefore it is called “vegetable ivory”.
Tagua is a very strong material. Our jewelry uses the best elements of the vegetable ivory to provide a great quality and resistance in time. Their vibrant color also remains almost intact after many years. The color is obtained by cooking in a non-toxic color bath used for textiles.
MAINTENANCE
Easy maintenance, to shine your jewelry or accessory in vegetable ivory just rub it with a chamois, in a few seconds, it takes its initial shine.
As for any other jewelry, we recommend not to use abrasive products or household products. To maintain your Tawa B’Art jewelry, avoid putting them in water, or doing sports with them, avoid chlorine, salt or sunlight for a long time.
